CSA Program
So What exactly is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) consists of a community of individuals who pledge support by purchasing a subscription to a farm operation so that the farmland becomes the community's farm.
Typically, "share-holders" of the farm pledge in advance to cover the anticipated costs of the farm operation and farmer's salary. In return, they receive a subscription of the farm's bounty throughout the growing season. Subscribers receive a weekly basket of fresh, local, and seasonal produce.

The CSA program also provides a place where people can come together as a community, both at the local pick-up sites or when they come to food/farm-related events hosted by your CSA farmers (Dan and Martin)
Our CSA programs give people the chance to contribute to the sustainability of their community, meet people with similar values and of course eat amazing, locally grown, organic produce. At City Garden Farms we also believe that a CSA subscription can help you or your family's budget by paying a set price for the cost of Organic Produce as opposed to dealing with rising food costs associated with food trucked in from 1000's of miles away. We can minimize produce prices by growing food as locally as possible, take the fuel out of your food equation and give you the piece of mind of knowing who's growing your food for you.
Sounds pretty good so far but .........What do I get?
The vegetables we offer are seasonal. Different vegetables ripen at different times of the year. Here is an example of what our standard share looked like at the height of the 2007 season.
| A head of romaine lettuce Seasonal onions A bunch of yellow beans A bunch of carrots 1 bag of mixed salad greens 1 bunch of scallions A head of broccoli 2 cucumbers A selection of summer squash 3 lbs of heirloom tomatoes A bunch of Arugula |
