Martin aka Moss (Our City Side)
Martin is the 'city' in City Garden Farms. He's right at home behind the computer or out on the back 40 diggin', hoein' or harvestin' with dirt under his fingernails and the sun on his back.  He loves nothing more than meeting people, making friends and laughs a plenty.  His idea of heaven is the thought of a harvest dinner in his backyard farm in late summer. Well.....he has a few thoughts on what his idea of heaven might be but that's just one of them.
Dan aka Broc (Farmer Dan)

Meet Dan (aka "Broc"...as in the Broccoli Whisperer).

Dan has dedicated the past few years to developing concept of urban farming in Portland, OR.  Farming for him has always been a dream.  Little did he or anyone else know that you don't need acres and acres 50 miles outside of the city limits to make this dream come true.  Dan is dedicated to growing as much food as possible for his family, his neighbors the the larger Portland community.  Whether he is ripping out Portland's City Hall Lawn with his trusty BCS rear tine tiller, growing a 30 member urban CSA program or teaching families and natural communities to grow food in their own backyards he is dedicated to the idea of growing food where people live.

"It just makes sense to grow as much food as possible where you live, with the time and resources you have at your disposal.  Having a connection with the food you eat will benefit you in so many ways."

Dan and City Garden Farms have been featured and mentioned in many local and national publications including Time, The Wall Street Journal, Sustainable Industries Magazine and most recently in the Willamette Week, a free weekly in Portland, OR.

You can get in touch with Dan, request a garden consult to start you own backyard farm and follow his urban farming efforts in Portland by going to the Portland Organoponico Project (POP Farming) website.
